Rehearsal 29 Oct, parking this week, concert helpers and other reminders

Hopefully the weather this Thursday will be an improvement on the last several days, fingers🤞ed.

This week's rehearsal, on Thursday 29 October, is scheduled in studio 2, as are the next three rehearsals after this week. Therefore, we won't be back in the concert hall until the tech rehearsal on Thursday 26 November. This week's rehearsal is at the usual time (doors open at 6.30 pm) and supper will be provided by the 2nd and 3rd clarinets.

Parking this week -- please read the following:

With another group (QYO) in the concert hall rehearsing at the same time as us, parking onsite will be tricky, but it doesn't end there. Old Museum staff have informed us that Urban Utilities have chosen this week to carry out some essential works and, as a result, there will not be any street parking on Gregory Terrace on Thursday night from 8 pm. This restriction runs from Kennigo Street (near the Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club) across Bowen Bridge Road and right to the T-intersection of Gregory Terrace and Brookes Street).

In addition, Gregory Terrace will be one-way only, going in the direction from Bowen Bridge Road to Brookes Street from 8 pm.

So there you go. Get your thinking caps on and start planning your arrival and departure on Thursday🤔

Reminders

1. Concert helpers required
   As per last week's email, non-playing volunteers are required on concert day. Specifically, we need people to fill the roles of Front of House, Ushers on the doors (to assist patrons, etc) and Raffle Ticket Sellers. (Perhaps some of these roles have already been filled but don't let that stop you approaching Peter Murray (alto sax) if you have talked to a friend or relative and they are interested.) Remember, all volunteers get free seats to see the concert.
   
   

2. Draft running order
   The draft running order is available on our members website and it was also attached to last week's orchestra-wide email, but it is attached here once again.
   
   

3. Ticket sales
   We've sold 92 so far but we have a long way to go. Make sure to contact people and spruik our concert! Send them the current version of our concert flyer, which will direct them to our public website where they can click on the links to buy their tickets. The concert flyer is available on our members website (link is in the list at the end of this email) and has been attached to previous orchestra-wide emails over the past few weeks.
   
   

4. If you haven't done so already, please fill in and submit the survey for our 30th anniversary concert, using the hyperlink here.
   
   

5. If you haven't done so already, please pay your term fee! Instructions for doing so have been included on previous orchestra-wide emails, but if you can't find those, please email the committee at kgwo@kgwo.org.au.

PS There has been a delay in the release of the updated concert flyer as Steve has been busy trying to encourage some local dancers to perform with us, but he hasn't met with success just yet. Once we get some dancers (or it's a firm 'no'), the updated flyer will be released.
