This is a website just for Kelvin Grove Wind Orchestra members.
KGWO is a community orchestra. We live and die based on the support and hard work of our members. Please think about what you can do to help your organisation thrive and grow. The more we spread the load, the stronger we will become. Not sure what you can do? Ask! Or even better, join the management committee! But its the simple things that make the difference. Help with setup and pack-up at rehearsals and concerts, welcome new members and make them feel at home, help with supper, put away chairs and risers, carry percussion gear - if you see something that needs doing, do it! We have a great organisation, lets keep it that way. Thanks everyone! :-)
Do you have a more recent photo for the banner above? Why not send it in and we'll update it!
What a great afternoon Sunday. Amazing job everyone! I had some nice feedback from a couple of friends who attended their first KGWO concert: "Beautiful music - a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!". And it looks like it was good financially - we had 284 sales - the biggest of the year!! I want to personally shout-out to Steve Mogridge who will need extra heads attached with the number of caps he had to wear at this concert
That's it for the year, we'll have our break-up this Thursday which is a brief sight-reading rehearsal of the new music, followed by supper. We will be in Studio 2. If everyone could please bring a small plate to share that would be great. And your mug for a cuppa
Key dates for next year:
January 22 - First Rehearsal
February 19 - AGM
April 26 - Concert 1
I'll leave everyone with some homework for the summer break. Yoko has put together a Member Survey that we would like all members to complete, so that we can get an idea of what is working well for you, and anything that is not. Maybe also if you can gauge from your patrons what prompted them to come along this time - Facebook posts, the weekly stories, the program, the guests, etc.? That would be useful to include in your comments (or email to kgwo@kgwo.org.au).
Here is the survey link: https://forms.gle/WZUbGx4HEajRys8G9
I'm handing back to Mike now (who is fortunately able to see again ) to drive the good ship comms onwards in 2026!
